Five independent Home Medical Equipment (HME) market-leading Business Partners implemented the original “Connecting Partners” philosophy when they founded and incorporated Medical Equipment Distributors, Inc. in 1968. These five Providers established purchasing agreements with Suppliers and networked regularly to develop better solutions for their patients, referral sources and their Supply Partners. More than 40 years later The MED Group consists of more than 365 market-leading, independent, HME Provider Members covering thousands of locations to create a significant National Footprint and the broadest and deepest reach in home care.
MED’s portfolio of Supply Agreements provide favorable pricing and terms for Members that require access to Rehab/ Mobility, Respiratory, Sleep, Infusion, Orthotics, Support Surface, Distributed Supplies, Durable Medical Equipment and everything in between—from cell phones to health care insurance.
Through Strategic partnerships with key industry Consultants , MED helps Provider Members evaluate and improve their Compliance, Operations/Reimbursement, Legal, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, IT and more.
Through Strategic Payer Agreements with Commercial Insurers, Managed Care, Work Comp Networks and Manufacturers, MED provides its Provider Members with a “steady stream of profitable referrals”, designed to optimize Member reimbursement.
Finally, The MED Group has a long history of leadership in advocating for industry Providers and Partners. The last 12 Chairmen of the American Association for Homecare have been MED Provider Members and today, active leadership roles with the various industry groups continue and include the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare), the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART), the National Registry of Rehab Technology Suppliers (NRRTS) and numerous state associations.
