The MED Group Announces Release of Results from Sixth Annual Hospital-Based Home Medical Equipment Provider Survey
Valuable market specific data can help identify opportunities for more efficient operation.

LUBBOCK, Texas (May 16, 2017) – The MED Group, a Managed Health Care Associates, Inc. (MHA) company, announces the release of the results from its hospital-based home medical equipment (HME) provider benchmark survey. This data is the result of the only benchmark study in the market today focused on the hospital-based HME provider and their unique methods of operation and challenges.

Results from this year’s survey, available only to MED Group members in this class, include information such as the average number of total referrals for rental equipment members obtain from their own hospital,  the average number of patient visits respiratory clinical technicians complete in an eight-hour day, product mix information, and financial metrics. Results can help members identify opportunities to grow revenue, aid in the discovery of lost revenue, enhance efficiencies, and be used for accreditation purposes.

“I look forward to this survey every year, as it really is the only tool available that gives us the opportunity to compare our business with other hospital-based HME companies,” said MED Member Diana Bigge, RN, Director of Sanford Home Medical Equipment. “The data is valuable to drive business decisions relative to operations and improvement opportunities.”

Hospital-based MED Group members consist of small hospitals in rural areas through major hospital systems in metropolitan areas across the United States. Members can compare results across the industry as a whole as well as with like-sized and located businesses.

“We’ve heard from our members that having access to these results is a great benefit,” said Rhonda Hines, Divisional Vice President, The MED Group. “Our hospital-based HME Members can compare their performance to other Members in the same arena, but they are also able to identify opportunities to potentially improve their businesses. That knowledge is invaluable in today’s marketplace.”
